Back Porch Thursday with Dr. Cooper
On October 6th, legendary Director of the Utica Jubilee Singers Dr. Bobby G. Cooper will be joining us for a conversation about his work at Utica over the years. We’ll talk about Opera South, the resurrection of the Jubilee Singers, the various tours the Jubilees have taken, as well as an update on what he’s been up to since retirement. Thursday at 3pm!
Utica Institute Museum at the State Fair
UTICA – The Utica Institute Museum on the Utica Campus of Hinds Community College is hosting a day of talks and demos at the Mississippi State Fair Friday, Oct. 7.
A number of faculty and community partners will be giving talks and demos from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Trade Mart stage as part of the Fair’s Ag Expo.
Additionally, on display throughout the Fair’s run is a historical display telling the story of the renowned Jubilee Singers. Come see us in the Trade Mart!
